I first came to MCK Thika Church with my family in 2002 in search of a place of worship. During our first visit to MCK Thika Church, the Sunday service was held in the small timber building that had capacity of seventy congregants. The room was hot, and the service of the day ended past 2.00 PM.
Out of this experience I did not come back the next Sunday, but attended service in other churches within Thika town. The urge to anchor the children in the Methodist Church like we had grown in ourselves, saw us come back to Thika Church. This time the services were being held in the incomplete stone building which had unfinished floor and un-plastered walls.
